Button Presses Picked Up On Microphone

Hello,

I purchased a Rev2 pedal secondhand about a year ago, and I’ve been really enjoying it. I utilize a condenser microphone to capture a lot of my instruments. All of my loops pick up the noise from pressing the button at the end of the loop. Do you have any recommendations to reduce noise from the buttons? I’ve tried separating the mic as much as I can while still being able to press the button with my feet, and I bring the instruments as close to the mic as I can. If you have any recommendations, I’d appreciate it. I am using Ableton Live 12 if it matters at all. I am open to swapping buttons if that is what it would take. Thank you for the awesome product, and I look forward to any suggestions you may have.

Hi! Yeah I’d switch the record trigger to press rather than release, then you can slowly release the button to reduce noise, but still get accurate timing of the looper starting on press.

Thank you for the quick reply! I will say that the noise is at the end of the loop instead of the start. I currently have it set to record on press. The start of the loop sounds good, but the noise from pressing to finish the loop gets captured. I know that other people manage to utilize it with microphones, and I’m trying to sort out what I can change to use it with a condenser microphone.

Hmm I’d still try a longer release time as you raise your foot. These buttons were specifically no click for this use case, so you should be able to get it pretty quiet. You can also link DL-1 to a keyboard button or pad with midi mapping.

Also, a gate set up the right way can be a great tool.
